As part of its Fatherhood Initiative the chapter has partnered with an existing community program,
Real Talk, which is a youth intervention program. Chapter members often take part as guest speakers
to share how they made successful career choices.

The chapter takes part with other Las Vegas Ques through participation in the prisoner re-entry and
Fatherhood Initiative by supporting the Angel Tree Program sponsored by a church of one of its
members. Angel Tree is a program of prison fellowship that connects parents in prison with their
children through the delivery of Christmas gifts (toys, blankets, clothing, gift cards, and wrapping
paper) to the children in the name of their incarcerated parents. This program allows the incarcerated
father or mother to stay connected with their child, making for a smoother transition to family life
upon the parent’s re-entry into the community.

Annually, the chapter partners with Walgreens to give free flu shots (and shingles and pneumonia
vaccinations for a fee) to congregants of a local church.

With Panhellenic Council support the Chapter hosted the annual Bro. Dr. Charles Drew blood
drive in conjunction with a Red Cross blood drive. The drive collected thirty-five pints of blood
from donors.

During the 80th Grand Conclave in Las Vegas, NV, the Chapter spearheaded two social action projects
for the Fraternity. Bro. Charles Walden, a retired Army colonel and Chapter KRS at that time,
coordinated the Fraternity’s “Feed the Hungry” pre-conclave activity that provided over 40 pounds of
fresh vegetables and non-perishable items to 400 needy families. Bro. Dr. Leary Adams, a retired
elementary school principal and Chief of Staff to the Grand Marshal, coordinated “Building Bridges
Back to Society”, a project that provided practical tools encouraging manhood, scholarship,
perseverance, and uplift to ex- offenders (who at that time were incarcerated at the Nevada
Department of Corrections’ Southern Desert Correctional Center) to equip and empower them for
reentry into our communities.

Throughout each year the chapter sponsors activities that support student learning and social events
and fundraises for its annual scholarship award.
